Otter Creek Engineering is pleased to announce the addition of James Snook, PG, to our team as our Hydrogeologist. James brings more than 20 years of environmental consulting experience to OCE, with a background that spans hydrogeologic investigation, site remediation, brownfield redevelopment, and regulatory compliance across the Northeast.
James holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Susquehanna University, a Master of Science in Hydrogeology from Clemson University, and a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from Green Mountain College/Prescott College. He is currently completing his dissertation toward earning a PhD in Sustainability Education at Prescott College. His peer-reviewed academic research resulted in a published ecological risk assessment focused on the Otter Creek Basin watershed restoration in central Vermont (available here), a fitting connection to his new home at OCE!
His career includes roles as a project manager/regional manager for an environmental services department and as a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP), during which he oversaw site remediation projects ranging from underground storage tank closures to complex, multimillion-dollar brownfield redevelopment efforts. He has extensive experience navigating environmental regulations across multiple states and guiding site remediation projects from Phase I assessment through final regulatory closure.
Beyond his technical work, James has been an active voice in the non-profit sector as a long-time officer and board member of the 501c3 Brownfield Coalition of the Northeast (BCONE), where he led, coordinated, and spoke at educational workshops throughout the Northeast.
