Otter Creek Engineering has been working on a two-phase water system improvements project in the heart of historic downtown Middlebury.  This section of water main provides both potable water service in a critical business district and fire protection for the entire community. This main is particularly important because it acts as a key transmission main to convey flows from the Town’s Finished Water Storage Tank located atop Chipman Hill to all parts of the distribution system and Industrial park.   The project received a grant and loan package through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) and through the Northern Borders Regional Commission.  The Total Project Cost was just under  $3,000,000, with over $2,000,000 in grants and forgivable loans.
