Project Description

The Town of Barre sought to replace a substantial section of existing, aged water mains and appurtenances along Brook Street, Libercent Street, and Violette Street,  much of which was over 100 years old within the village of Websterville.  Having taken over the system from Websterville Fire District 4, the Town of Barre opted to utilize remaining local ARPA funds to replace old mains and services. The replacements improved water quality, pressure, and flow throughout the system and were completed one construction season in advance of the Town reconstructing roads within the neighborhoods. These improvements also provided the benefit of fire protection in a densely-developed neighborhood. OCE fast-tracked design, permitting, bid, and construction review services for a project that was completed on time and under budget.
