Middlebury College Swing Space

Otter Creek Engineering provided civil/site engineering design and support services to Middlebury College for the construction of a new building intended to serve as ‘swing space’ for faculty offices while other buildings are being renovated.  The site design was coordinated with McLeod Kredell Architects, the building designer.  Site design included accessibility and parking improvements along with infrastructure upgrades to accommodate the 24,000 square foot, two-story building.  The project received State Act250, Stormwater Discharge, Water Supply/Wastewater Disposal, Erosion Prevention, and Sediment Control, and Local Permit approvals.  Stormwater runoff from the project area was directed to a bioretention area where runoff was filtered and detained.
