Halladay Road Wastewater Pump Station Improvement Project

The Town of Middlebury has a pump station on Halladay Road that receives wastewater from Route 7 South, Foot Street, and Middle Road neighborhoods. The pump station originally had a dry-pit configuration, and the Town desired to retrofit the existing structure with new submersible pumps and utilize the dry-pit for expanded wet well capacity in emergencies. Before this project, OCE had designed similar pump stations at Halpin Road and Seminary Street, modeling this design after those projects, so that Department of Public Works staff had a familiar configuration when providing operation and maintenance. Additional improvements included new piping, controls, and a standby emergency generator. OCE provided design, permitting, and construction review services, and the project was ultimately completed on time and under budget.
