Otter Creek Engineering is seeking a full-time experienced Survey Project Manager to join our Team. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience in the following areas: boundary, easement, right of ways, topo surveys, design surveys, aerial mapping, construction layout, survey crew management, and client communication skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the client, the client’s representative, and contractors,
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules,
  • Produce competitive proposals,
  • Review project budgets and invoices,
  • Supervise and direct field surveyors and office drafters,
  • Ensure team is properly equipped with personal protection equipment and follows safety protocols,
  • Manage survey projects from start to finish with minimal oversight,
  • Attend meetings with project team,
  • Provide QA/QC to other PLS and Project managers, and
  • Follow local state and federal survey regulations.


  • 5+ years of land surveying experience,
  • Strong communication skills with clients and internal staff members,
  • Ability to lead field surveyors and drafters,
  • Advanced understanding of coordinate systems and vertical datums,
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD Software,
  • Advanced ability to research property boundaries, easements, and other documents of record,
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a crew,
  • Motivated problem solver, and
  • Strong desire to live, work and play in Vermont.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Vermont PLS,
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience,
  • GIS experience,
  • Diverse surveying experience with including boundary retracement, construction staking, topographic mapping, and legal description preparation.
